A prior science researcher at Stanford University & UCSF who has co-authored 5 publications, I have always been passionate about teaching. And I have had over a decade of teaching experience. Teaching gives me much joy because effective tutoring helps students realize their academic potential and pave the way for a more rewarding career path.
Over the years, I have tutored students in the SAT, ACT, writing, and regular and AP courses in math and the sciences. Furthermore, I have taught SAT Prep & ACT Prep in the Bay Area since 2015. My background in the sciences, math & experience in research allow me to break down complex concepts into straightforward ideas. Students really appreciate the simple & intuitive explanations of abstruse concepts.
I do not follow a one-size fits all teaching method. My customized approach aims to enhance the student's strengths and improve his/her weaknesses. The goal is to build a solid foundation upon which knowledge continues to accumulate. If the student has advance standing already, I can also help him/her to get ahead in school by teaching concepts ahead of the teacher. Furthermore, I teach students study skills and strategies so that they will become more effective learners. Over the years, some of my students have scored upward of 1400 on the SAT and 30 on the ACT and have been admitted to colleges like UC Berkeley , UCLA, and the Ivy Leagues.
